How you can help
The 'Gideon Factor’
Our fundraising strategy has been inspired by the book of Judges, where the Israelites were caught up in the cult of Ba’al and were being oppressed by enemy insurgents. Gideon, one of the Greater Judges of Israel, refused to worship any God but Yahweh and raised an army of 32,000 to expel the Midianites and Amalekites. God told Gideon to send home those who were fearful. His army was then only 300 strong, but with clever tactics, he won a glorious victory!
This is where you come in!
Would you like to be part of an army of Gideon proportions, waging war against social injustice? With the support of 300 of you we will win an easy victory in the first stage of our campaign: to relocate KCAH. The second stage will be building an adjacent sanctuary and centre for the delivery of pastoral care for vulnerable and needy people.
If 300 Gideons promise to pay £15.00 a month (plus gift aid) for five years, the ‘Gideon Factor’ would raise £337,500 towards our goal! You could be contributing the enormous sum of £1,125 over 5 years! Your generosity will enable us to take this project out to the wider community and onto the second stage of its development.

The Joel Community Project was submitted to Urban Design and Conservation at the Royal Borough of Kingston for planning permission on the 14th September. A number of objections have been raised. If you would like to email us or send a letter of support for the project, please mark it FAO Mr Patrick Whelan and we will forward.
